2016 Reflection
I like this photo because it reminds me of Summer when all my friends and I went swimming at different creeks and places around Austin.
I like this photo because David Bowie passed in 2016 and I think it's sweet that people went to admire the painting of Bowie to give their respects. Bowie was a powerful musician was an inspiration to a lot of people which made it so sad that he had passed.
I like this photo because it has a bunch of moneys in it. You don't see many people going out into the jungle giving animals resources, and I think that it's stuff like this that makes the earth a better place for animals.
Best Song of 2016:
To me, I think the best song released in 2016 was the song The Sound, by The 1975. Their album I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It was released in February and is personally one of my favorite albums. I'm a huge fan of The 1975, so it's not surprising that my favorite song released in 2016 was by them. I saw them live in May and November of 2016 and I have to say they hosts some of the best concerts. This song has a very upbeat tune, so it's very easy for it to get stuck in your head. The reason I like it so much is because of the meaning behind the song. It's all about the critics they have and this song is basically mocking all of them. The critics often say the leader singer has a "whiney voice" and that the band is "emo," so the lyrics of this song are really as if critics are talking, but they make the song seem as if it's an upbeat romance.
Best Movie of 2016:
In my opinion, the best movie of 2016 was The Conjuring 2. This was my favorite because I think it was the best horror movie that was released in 2016. My favorite genre of movies is horror, so I was very excited to go see this. The concept of the whole movie was creepy and stressful, which is what you want in horror movie. I also loved that two of my favorite actors were in it. Vera Farming plays in Bates Motel (my favorite show), so I was really happy that she was in The Conjuring 2.
Best news story of 2016:
This is my favorite news story because it's unbelievable how Angelina looks after losing 76 pounds and being hospitalized. Brad and Angelina's divorce was sad, but they continued on. Angelina got help and became stable. She went on a trip with her kids to Colorado, WITHOUT Brad which was good for her to have family time with her kids.
Most Important Person of 2016:
The most important person to me in 2016 is the singer in Catfish and the Bottlemen
named, Van McCann. Catfish and the Bottlemen is an underrated band, but they're one of my favorite bands. This year my dad and I saw them live and it brought us closer in a way. My dad couldn't stop talking about how great the lead singer was (Van) and it made my dad respect them more. I have to think Van because I discovered his music in 2016 and it's made me even happier. :)
Biggest Sports Story of 2016:
I honestly don't know/can't come up with one because I don't know anything about sports. I did hear that the cubs won though. Apparently that was a huge accomplishment this year for the Cubs, so I found a photo of them. I have some friends who love the Cubs, so I did hear about this last year.
My Holiday:
1. Over the holiday my whole family met in San Antonio and we got a hotel on the Riverwalk. We went on a boat ride and we went shopping. We stayed there for 2 nights and departed our ways home. On Christmas night I got strep throat! :( I recovered in 4 days though, so my friend Maddie and I hung out and went to the mall. Maddie and I saw each other 4 days in a row and at her house we threw a New Years Party. Then my friend Sophia and I had a sleepover on the last day of break.
2. My resolutions of 2017 is to go to the gym a lot more and to become a better flute player.
3. I'm looking forward to a fresh start this year because 2016 was a crappy year, and was very stressful. I hope that this year isn't as bad and I hope I have better luck!
