Fashion Portraits

1. Using Photoshop the model's face is changed different ways. Her hair is given more texture and volume. Her neck is made smaller and her eyes are made bigger for a more dramatic look. They even added a little bit of makeup on her cheeks to make it loo like she's wearing contour.

2. The model's face was given color to her face to make her look younger. Her lips were given a more red tone and her were made bigger along with her eye color being tinted a little more blue. Some of her stomach was cut off as well to make her thinner. Her legs were made longer and her feet were made smaller. Her neck was made taller and her face was shaped "better." Then, lastly her skin tone was made into a lighter skin tone which created a more glowy look.

3. This model was made more "skinny" and thin due to the Photoshop work done on her. They made her butt smaller in size and they made her legs thin. They trimmed down her stomach and made her breasts bigger. Her ams and legs continued to made smaller. Then, on to her face and head area. Her hair was made longer and added more volume. her skin was then smoothed out and her skin was changed to more of a light pink tone.

4. After watching the second and third video I don't think it's acceptable to change people's appearances. A little change is okay if you want to add color to the person or give them a little glow, but changing everything about the person isn't okay. In the third video the girl was made as a completely different person, she was super thin and that's how people will see her, they won't she her as her actual self.

5. I think it'd be more ethically wrong to use this amount of Photoshop on models who are sponsoring  body products and certain types of makeup because it can make the products look like they work, but in reality they don't. It creates a false advertisement and no one likes that.

6. I think SOME body changes are okay. I understand adding hair to people, or makeup because to me that's normal. People wear wigs and makeup all the time to express themselves. Adding some extra makeup on the computer helps create some more contrast and color to the person's face.

7. Fashion Photography is mainly of people to draw people in for products or just in general. Fashion photography is of models and beauty. People in Fashion Photography, based on what I've seen, the models used are made to be more "attractive." In photojournalism, the photos taken aren't just of models, it's over any subject chosen. The 'journalism' part is the written portion that goes along with the photos taken.

8. All these photos Photoshopped are all of models made to look "prettier" or "sexy." Two of the three videos have a girl's body being slimmed down to look skinnier. All the photos have the girls' faces being changed by adding makeup and their hair and eyes were changed as well to look bigger. This affects the ethical practice of earth because these people are changed into a different person on the computer, and in the real world they're their real selves.

9. I think you're showing us these videos because you want us to have a perspective on THIS type of photography and fill us on information that we probably wouldn't have known. All these videos show just how much Photoshop can change someone and for some it could interest them to be part of Fashion Photography or not.

10. None of these videos are about guys because our generation is of girls being the "sexy" ones. To me, people think of girls mainly for their bodies and that's the only reason people buy magazines, because they have an attractive girl on the front cover of a magazine or on a advertising product.
